Questions

Common questions

Is your service really free?

Yes, for you. If an introduction leads to a relationship, the advisor may pay us a referral fee. You never pay us anything, and your advisory fees are never higher because of the introduction.

Do you manage my money?

No. We are a matching service, not an advisory firm. We never hold assets, never see your accounts, and never recommend investments. The independent advisors in our network provide all advice and management.

How do you choose which advisor to recommend?

We read every inquiry personally and match on four things: the complexity of your situation, your approximate asset level, the specialty you need, and temperament. A retiree in Bronxville rolling over a pension needs a different advisor than a founder in White Plains with concentrated stock. The match is the entire product.

What does fiduciary mean, and why does it matter?

A fiduciary is legally required to act in your interest at all times. Many people who call themselves advisors are brokers held to a weaker suitability standard, which allows them to recommend products that pay them more. Every advisor in our network is a fiduciary. We consider it the floor, not a feature.

How much money do I need to work with an advisor?

It depends on the advisor. Some in our network work with clients starting around $250,000 in investable assets. Others focus on $1 million and above, and some specialize in multi-generational wealth well beyond that. There are also excellent planners who work on flat fees regardless of assets. Tell us your situation and we will tell you honestly whether a match makes sense.

What happens after I submit the form?

A person reads it, usually within one business day. We then reach out with a short follow-up or a proposed introduction. If the fit looks right, we arrange a complimentary introductory conversation with the advisor. You interview them as much as they learn about you.

What if the match is not right?

Tell us and we make another introduction. There is no limit and no awkwardness. Chemistry matters in a twenty-year relationship, and we would rather try twice than have you settle once.

Will my information be shared or sold?

No. Your inquiry goes to us and, with your permission, to the one advisor we introduce you to. We do not sell data and we do not add you to marketing lists.

How are advisors vetted?

Four checks: fiduciary duty in writing, recognized credentials such as CFP or CFA, a clean regulatory record that we verify independently, and a proven track record with clients like you. The full standard is on our Our Standard page.

Why not just ask a friend for a referral?

A friend can tell you their advisor is wonderful. They cannot tell you whether that advisor is right for your situation, your assets, or your temperament. We match on fit, not familiarity, and we verify the record your friend never saw.

Begin with a conversation.

No cost. No obligation. Just an honest introduction to someone worth your time.
